Our family European adventure 2014

Well we decided it was time to go as far away from New Zealand as you possibly can, and have booked nearly 5 weeks of travel throughout two of our favourite places in the world – Italy and France. Most people think we are mad taking a 2 and 4 year old on a 24 hour+ flight, but we truly love these places and have always said that we’ll keep travelling even with kids in tow. So here we go….!

Buongiorno from Rome. We made it safely, the flight was long but the kids were amazing, even the other passengers commented how good they were.

We have spent the last 2 days exploring Rome – St Peter’s, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Colesseum. S’ favourite has been throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain and of course trying gelato – so far lemon, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple and mango. She’s also way into cheese and prosciutto for breakfast, must be some European in her blood somewhere.

J’s highlights have been chilling out in the backpack taking in the sights, gelato as well ‘chocchoc’ and enjoying the loud police sirens and motor scooters everywhere.

Mum and Dad have enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere, wandering the backstreets, gelato as well, and Nastro Azzuro. Tomorrow we pick up our rental car for the next month, join the crazies on the Autostrada and head south to Puglia.
